Rio 2016 – 10 Olympians from Plymouth College

Plymouth College - Schüler nehmen an den Olympischen Spielen 2016 in Rio teil

It would appear impossible, for a small school community like Plymouth College, with only 500 students, to be represented by 10 Olympians at Rio 2016. Plymouth College is world famous for its aquatic programmes, but this year has more students at the Olympics than any other school in the UK.

These students are representing the school:

Rūta Meilutytė (Lithuania) 100m Breaststroke
Ben Proud (GB) –50m and 100m Freestyle
Julie Meynen (Luxembourg) – 100M Freestyle
Paulina Schmiedel (Germany) – 4 x 200m freestyle relay
Jamila Lunkuse (Uganda) – 100m Breaststroke
Lara Butler (Cayman Islands) – 100m Breaststroke
Ahmad Attellesey (Libya) – 50m Freestyle
Jade Howard (Zambia) – 100m Freestyle
Geoffrey Butler (Cayman Islands) – 400m Freestyle

For more information on the aquatics programme Plymouth has created a new video, presented by Jon Rudd, Olympic Gold Medal winning coach
