Bromsgrove is situated in the Midlands, just outside of Birmingham, the second largest city in England. It has excellent transport links being close to major motorways and Birmingham International Airport. Manchester Airport and Heathrow are within reasonable journey times as well. Bromsgrove School is set within the town of Bromsgrove but nestled in discretely so you hardly notice the school form the town, which itself has a population of around 35,000 people. A Sporting School

Bromsgrove has superb facilities both indoor and outdoor. Set in 100 acres of land it has an abundance of grass pitches but with British weather as it is there are also 2 Astro- turf hockey pitches, an indoor swimming pool, climbing walls, sports arena seating 500 spectators, squash courts, tennis courts and a dance studio. Adjacent to the school site is an all-weather 400m running track that the pupils use. It has long been known as a school that is good at sports and offers an extensive range of sports. There is an outdoor adventure centre 5 minutes drive away where sailing, canoeing and ropework provides more options for the children. Domestic Arrangements

Catering is done centrally in the school dining room with staggered mealtimes and the quality is very good, giving great choice. There are a dozen Houses, which are either day or boarding and all apart from one are single sex. They do have one Sixth Form only co-ed boarding House called Housman Hall, named after a famous Old Bromsgrovian, A.E. Housman. The campus, as you would expect is big, covering about 100 acres in total but is set rather neatly adjacent to the town and is surprisingly private from the town.

Summary

A relatively new Headmaster has been in office since 2022 and comes with good experience from senior positions in substantial schools. It is academically ambitious and produces some impressive exam results, in both A level and IB, and the academic provision is rounded well with a comprehensive activities programme from racing car design to bee-keeping and strongly supported by a vibrant lecture programme. All in all, Bromsgrove is a school that ticks all the boxes and because of its scale can pretty much offer everything to everybody.
