"Space to thrive."

Located on the east coast of England close to the sea, the school and life revolves around the 7 boarding houses, the most recent opened by Prince Philip, Duke of Edinburgh, the school's Patron. The aim of the school is to give a good all-round education and it specialises in the IB Diploma which has been offered since 2007. There is a wide range of sports including the more traditional ones as well as golf, swimming, riding, sailing, shooting and canoeing.

Sir Dyson funds building complex for Science, Technology, Maths and Design

A true highlight on campus is the Dyson Building, financed by Sir James Dyson. This modern complex for science, technology, mathematics, and design reflects Gresham’s commitment to innovation – and is far more than just an architectural statement. It inspires young minds to think creatively, work experimentally, and bring their own ideas to life – with access to 3D printers, laser cutters, and state-of-the-art lab facilities.

An “Educationalist” as Headmaster

Douglas Robb, an experienced educator and visionary school leader, heads the school. His belief: education must be holistic. Under his leadership, Gresham’s has continued to evolve – with a curriculum that promotes intellectual depth, creative freedom, and personal development in equal measure.

A Steinway Piano School

Gresham’s is officially recognised as an All-Steinway School and is fully equipped with grand and upright pianos from Steinway & Sons – including a Model B concert grand in the school’s own auditorium.

“Greshamians” are sporty

Sport plays a central role in the daily life of “Greshamians.” Rugby, hockey, netball, swimming, tennis, athletics, shooting, kayaking and sailing at sea – the list of sports is long. It's not just about competitive achievement, but also about teamwork, health, and personal growth. The modern sports facilities on the extensive campus provide ideal conditions.

Outdoor Activity Centre

The school's forest-based Outdoor Activity Centre is a real adventure playground: a climbing wall, zipline, obstacle course and a whole climbing forest keep students fit – and they have a lot of fun in the process.

Norfolk is worth it

Space, fresh air, and room to breathe – something even the Queen appreciated, having a holiday residence here. Norfolk might not be in the heart of the Midlands or the buzz of London, but it’s precisely this rural charm on the North Sea coast that makes Gresham’s in the town of Holt a particularly attractive option for boarding students who appreciate – or need – a down-to-earth and relaxed environment. In addition to the beautiful surroundings on the 60-hectare Gresham’s campus, there’s also plenty to enjoy during school breaks: the vast countryside, the Outdoor Activity Centre, and proximity to the sea just 6 kilometres away create a unique setting for students – safe, yet perfect for small and big adventures alike.
