Ellesmere College to offer tennis scholarships to mark the opening of £1.2m Tennis Centre

Ellesmere College is on the verge of opening a new £1.2m indoor tennis centre which will provide 4 acrylic state of the art courts.

This will be in addition to the 10 existing AstroTurf and asphalt outdoor courts plus the other indoor court in the school sports hall.

To mark this development the Governors have decided to offer tennis scholarships to the value of a 25% reduction in fees for any international students committing to at least a two year stay at the College. Typical candidates would be joining for A Level or IB, but the scholarships are also open to younger pupils. The school has decided to bring their plans for the new scholarship initiative forward so that Ellesmere can welcome international tennis scholars from September 2017 rather than waiting until September 2018.

Candidates will need to satisfy the normal academic criteria for entry to Ellesmere. For candidates who cannot travel for interview, Ellesmere can arrange for an external assessment which would include video footage, ranking evidence of national standards where available and a reference from their current tennis coach. Stanford & Ackel would help a student throughout the application process.
