School of the Week – Oakham School

Oakham School was founded in 1584 and is renowned for being innovative. It was the first independent all boys school to accept girls and introduced the IB qualification over 10 years ago. The results have been impressive (2012 IB Points average = 37.8). It is particularly successful at rugby, hockey and cricket.

Famous Alumni: Tom Croft (Rugby player: current England International), Crista Cullen (Hockey Player: Olympic Bronze Medallist), Lewis Moody (Rugby player: former England Captain), Stuart Broad (Cricketer: England International), Greg Hicks (Actor)

News: This year’s GCSE, A Level and IB results have been amongst some of the best ever recorded at the school.
