Notes on Travel and Arrival/Departure
Airport Transfers: Most schools offer airport transfer services, some even free of charge. Please note that these transfers are available only during specific timeframes set by the Summer Schools. Make sure to consider this when booking flights. For transfers outside these designated periods, additional costs may apply, and arrangements must be coordinated with the Summer School providers.
Travel Policies for Unaccompanied Minors: Depending on the airline, children may only fly unaccompanied once they reach a certain age. Many airlines offer an escort service for younger children, often referred to as the “Unaccompanied Minor Service” (UM). Please check the airline’s specific policies for unaccompanied minors before booking a flight.
For example, the airline EasyJet has raised the minimum age for unaccompanied travelers to 16 years. This rule applies to all flight bookings made after April 4, 2019. The Exsportise Summer School has compiled a guide outlining the travel policies and escort services of various airlines.
Travel Consent Form: Please ensure that your children carry the “Travel Consent Form” with them during travel. This document confirms their participation in the Summer School and serves as a parental authorization for their travel.
Privately Arranged Travel: If you plan to personally drop off or pick up your children, please inform the Summer School of your travel plans and the estimated arrival and departure times. This allows the Summer Schools to plan appropriately, for example, for meals and activities, and to personally welcome or bid farewell to your children.
